Spring Has Sprung…

and so have some little updates!

Anyone else LOVE SPRING!??
It's one of my favorite times of year and really gets my creative juices flowing!
We have been super busy around the farm doing everything from painting outdoor structures to updating some spaces within the farmhouse.
One huge impact project that we tackled was painting our silo and out shed that house some of our animals. The fresh white paint on these structures against the beautiful Texas sky has this farm girl all heart eyes. The paint we used was was a White, Rust-Oleum Studio Color Exterior Paint + Primer, Satin Finish!

We also rescued ten chickens and gained two very nice roosters! The very nice roosters thing is a huge shock to me. Most of the roosters we have had in the past have been anything but nice! Of course this new little flock needed a place to be housed so we set to work and created a fancy little shack. It's not much but it allows them to lay their eggs and get a little reprieve from some of the sassy hens. I of course had to jazz it up with some galvanized flair and a wreath.
As for the inside of the farmhouse I keep tweaking it to make it feel more like home.
I set out stripping an old door that I brought from our previous farmhouse. It dates back to 1820 and is said to be called a Christian door because there is a cross at the top. I absolutely love this door and had at one time turned it into a vanity station for my daughter at college.
It is now the door to our downstairs powder bathroom. I love how it turned out and gives this space so much more character. I added these beautiful vintage gold mirrors from @piperclassics to help give this space a little more charm.
This past weekend Mr. Maple set to work and put his talents to good use creating a new look to one of the cabinets in the kitchen. We added decorative modeling and beautiful arches to achieve a built in flair that brings so much character to the space.
